What is rhinoplasty?

Process of Ultrasonic Piezo Method
Consultation and assessment

o Stop smoking or vaping to ensure fast healing.
o Arrange an attendant with you to take you home from the clinic after the procedure and take your care for 2 days after the surgery.
o Please take a shower before coming to the surgery, as you can not take a proper shower for the initial 4 to 5 days after surgery.
o Please don’t eat or drink anything for 5 hrs before your surgery.
o Kindly bring an attendant with you, who can accompany you post surgery.
o Don’t bring and wear any jewellery on the day of your surgery.
The Procedure
The procedure can be up to 5 hours long. Surgeons give you general anesthesia before surgery. Either open (Conventional & Ultrasonic Piezo Method) or closed rhinoplasty is done as per your treatment plan. After closing the incisions, nasal splints are placed for support. You can expect to be discharged from the hospital on the same day or the next day.
Post-surgery care
Patient is provided with complete post procedure guidelines in the form of briefing and a to do list in the form of a video. The list includes the following:
- Make sure to remove the anterior nasal packing before discharge from the hospital.
- Start taking your normal diet within 24 hours.
- Mild bleeding from the nose can occur for a few days. Swelling and bruises can occur on the nose and under the eye area.
- Take good care of your nasal hygiene.
This is a very important step: – Perform nasal douching with one litre of normal saline daily using the rinsing system provided. - Apply Polyfax ointment to your stitches twice a day.
- Use wipes instead of water to clean your face for 7 days.
- You’ll feel nasal blockage and congestion for the initial 2 weeks.
- Get your stitches/splint removed by the 7th day post-procedure.
- Keep your nose safe from any kind of injury.
- Take your prescribed medicines regularly as per your discharge slip.
- Do not poke your finger in your nose unnecessarily.

We keenly observe patients during the initial recovery phase to ensure no immediate complications arise. A follow up visit on the 7th day is recommended in which we remove stitches and splints. Also, further it is recommended to share pictures every month, till 6 months for online follow-ups.
Ideal Candidate for Rhinoplasty
